Si possiamo!

Our new motto is 'Si, possiamo!' (which is 'Yes, we can!' to quote Mr Obama). We have stopped saying 'we wish, we hope...' but rather 'we believe, we can...' to turn on our tap of positive energy! If you want something badly and you deserve it for all the goodness that you've done (karma), then nature will make it happen. And with nature, we'd need to be patient - it's like if you pray for rainfall, the skies might open the next day or next month. No point shooting rockets of chemicals skyhigh and get shit back on your face. For more inspirational thoughts and words of wisdom, visit this website by my sis' tree-gong master and life coach Thomas K www.naturesgift4health.blogspot.com He also provides valuable insight into 'the secret life of plants' (I'm gonna get the book!) and on eating well (based on harnessing life force in natural food).

For San Valentino, we stuffed our faces on the delizioso char kway teow and hokkien mee at Whitesands mall (combined calories of 35,960) before trodding down to the jam-packed Jumbo seafood restaurant at East Coast Park for their chilli crabs, crispy baby squid and mee goreng (calories of 408,712). L is on a mission to tick off the various local favourites off C's cookbook 'Shiok!', and so far his top 3 favs are curry, wanton soup and popiah. You should see his popiah high. Oooh, I should throw him a surprise popiah birthday party in October - topped with a durian cake. He's already bugging me to go to the Durian Fiesta at Goodwood Park Hotel in March.

It's good that he's discerning about his food, even making mental notes on various popiah and which is best (so far Bedok Reservoir coffeeshop is tops). Over the past month, we have tried many stalls including one of the best in S'pore - Qi Ji. Chris, my food columnist amico, joked L should open his own popiah stall aptly named 'Lui Ji'. Hahaha. Actually that's food for thought. It might spin off into a profitable biz like Botak Jones and that Austrian sausage man at Chinatown.
